There are numerous places to visit in the immediate locality and beyond        Bagni di Lucca is an historic spot and a natural spa;  a variety of treatments and therapies are available at Bagni Termi. The newly restored Casino (1837) where roulette was invented is worth a visit.  Shelley and Byron lived in Bagni di Lucca.  Puccini visited the town often and wrote some of his operas while in residence  

Teatro Academico has a programme of plays, concerts and a regular acting school

July and August are busy times with many authentic Italian festivals to suit all tastes.  Borgo a Mozzano has its annual beer festival, there is outdoor wining, dining and dancing in many villages as well as a variety of different types of musical performance

Each year in July a series of open air pop concerts takes place in Lucca featuring artistes such as Simply Red, Santana, Eros Ramazzotti.

The town of Bagni di Lucca is approximately one hour by train or car from Pisa Airport and twenty minutes from the historic walled city of Lucca

From Bagni di Lucca there is a good road and rail network to Florence, the beautiful seaside resorts of Viareggio and Forti di Marmi and the annual outdoor opera held in Torre del Lago

The Garfagnana is north of the town and affords the opportunity for many leisure activities; walking, trekking, visiting areas of natural beauty
